My query is that while booking the Helicopter tickets i read one of the guidelines that YOU HAVE TO CARRY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD THROUGH WHICH THE TRANSACTION HAS BEEN MADE, but my parents only are going for the Darshan and i have booked their tickets online through my Card. Is it necessary that they have to carry my card since i work in Pune and they live in Jaipur.

Do you happen to know which train you will be taking and what time it will reach? Well, with trains being late is usual, I will say there is a risk in it. Generally, you will be able to reach by early noon to Katra from Jammu station if train drops you early morning at Jammu tawi station. Then, if you have 4 hrs of day light you should be able to do the trip by chopper and return back to Katra. But, as I said it will be touch and go and depend upon train timings or any road blocks on the way 🙂

I have plans on Amarnath yatra and leh ladakh trip as below , plz suggest ..
Fly from Bangalore to jammu (a day before).
Day 1: visit katra vaishnodevi temple by helicopter from sanjichit and few kms walk to reach Bhawan, and return by walk / pony. katra Halt.
Day 2: leave katra to srinagar by bus/ shared taxi early. Reach srinagar max by 6.00 pm. Halt.
Day 3: srinagar sightseeing and rent bike, leaving to sonmarg/ Baltal and reach by 5-6 pm and stay.
Day 4: take a piligrimage on Amarnath Yatra by helicopter from baltal helipad. Later need to walk atleast 6kms to reach holy cave. Return to baltal by pony / horse. Rest/ halt/ if possible leav to drass.
Else on Day 5, Day 6 & so on : baltal to drass, kargil, batalik, leh ……. Etc
My query is : plz suggest me on acclimatisation matters till/on day 4.
Can I go ahead with Amarnath yatra on this itinerary planned ?
And Precautions that I can take as there is steep increase in altitude suddenly?

Sorry for the delay so much in reply.
Outside rented bikes are not allowed for sightseeing in Ladakh, so better reach Leh and then hire a bike on rent in Leh. Till Day 4, it is fine but then you will be walking to holy cave in high altitude region after landing from helicopter which can cause AMS issues. But, since you might not be sleeping at high altitude and come down to sleep at either Baltal or Sonamarg, it should still be OK.

SIR ….I Want to know cancellation procedure of ticket…i have booked one ticket for 5 passenger…and i want to cancel only two passenger…what can i do ?
Kartik, this is what the cancellation policy suggests
Online Booking once done, shall not be cancelled, Postponed or Pre-poned. However, in respect of online booked helicopter tickets for travel on Katra – Sanjichatt- Katra sector, the following policy for the cancellation and refund of helicopter ticket shall apply:
Online Helicopter tickets booked through Shrine Board’s website shall be cancelled through Online Mode only, which facility is available on Shrine Board’s official website. No request for cancellation of Online helicopter tickets shall be entertained through any mode other than Online cancellation. Request for such cancellation by approaching any of counters of SMVDSB through physical production of tickets etc. shall not be entertained under any circumstance.
Yatris who have booked their helicopter tickets through Shrine Board’s official website can cancel their helicopter tickets online by logging on the website with their username and password.
50% of the Fare (Excluding taxes) shall be refunded to the Yatris who have booked their helicopter tickets through Shrine Board’s official website, and have subsequently cancelled their tickets online for whatever reasons. Remaining 50% of the amount for the booked ticket shall accrue to the Shrine Board as processing charges.
The cancellation can be made upto (and not after) 04 days before the scheduled date of travel.
The refund shall be made ordinarily by the Shrine Board within 15 days from the date of cancellation of the tickets.
The amount of refund shall be reimbursed online into the same account of the Debit/Credit Card through which the transaction was made for booking of the tickets.

there are two types of Arties performed at Bhawan . One in morning( 6-8) and other n evening (6.30 -8.30) which are booked online or can be booked same day ( if available) from Room No 8. Noother Atri is performed apart from these two. So if your flight timings don’t match you won’t be able to attend the Arti. Rest You can easily do dashan within 3 Hours.

Vikas, as I said, there is timewritten at the counter, you can request your time to be more in case the availability is there, they should be able to stamp the requested time for you.

Yes, VIP passes are only issued for the same day tickets only and for rest there is a semi VIP pass where line is in comparison small. Ideally it is 4 Hrs you need to be back but usually you can ask at the counter to give some more time. I am not sure if things have changed but earlier it used to be return

I am getting error as your computer ISP is already registered with us. I have tried on 2 odd PC from my office but still getting the same issue. Please advice.
Also advice at what time booking of Helicopter starts as some said morning 4 AM but in website it is mentioned as 10 AM.
Mayus, since office has the same ISP, the validation work on that. Hence, you have to make an attempt froma network from where no other user has ever registered.

Mayur, earlier it used to open at mid night 12 AM 30 days in advance only. AFAI remember, someone mentioned in the comments above that it might have changed to 4 AM or 10 AM. 30 days in advance is still the case.
You need to mention the correct ID number for booking the tickets which will be verified there.

AFAIK, you will be able to make it with 3 but in worst case it will be like 5 not 6 as total tickets is coming to be 24. No one can help in the case or problem you are into 🙂 You have to find different internet connections with different ISPs. It might allow you to book the same because AFAIK the rules are only on registration and ticket issuance is on User ID

Laxman ji, you have a fixed time slot for darshan when booking return ticket. But, the time of coming back can be stamped there only at counter while boarding the flight. So, book the max. slot you get and you should be able to do fine.

When we book Helicopter tickets, after successful payment we get a static page displaying PNR No, timing, date, number of people etc!.. we take print out of that page and take it with us on yatra but can you tell how they check at the time of boarding in morning? i mean they check those print outs manually and allow us to board or they check in their computers etc and then allow us to go next?
Also is it easy to get tickets right on spot? because i saw some people live nearby me they don’t know much about computer, internet etc! they directly get tickets from place! so is it normal or messy to get?
For the first question, I did not took notice of such a thing and would wait for others here to comment. However, for the second it all depends on luck on the availability of the seats. In case you are lucky, you will get it especially high chances in low season time.

Wanted to ask something i have read somewhere that we can book only 5 tickets per user ID, and we are 10 people so using 2 user ID’s i will book 10 tickets!
But what will happen in case of return tickets? is it allowed to book 10 return tickets as well though those 2 user ID’s or i will have to make another new user ID’s means total 4 usernames for booking 20 tickets?
There are those pre-made timing as well in which they include both side tickets but 3 hour gap is very less that’s why want to take customized timing of 10:00 morning to 17:00 return
Also you think they will track IP’s while booking with 4 usernames? otherwise will need 4 PC, 4 different Internet connections 😀 strange system

No Shakti, only 5 tickets can be booked as return tickets.
Actually, you can book 5 return tickets for 5 people from one connection and 5 from different connection. The gap between the journey is manageable as in case of return ticket you get a semi vip pass which helps cut the queue.

Amit, along with ticket you will be alloted the VIP Darshan pass where queue will be short. Mostly it is sufficient but do not take more time for stops. Also, request the people who will alot you the return time slot if you can get an hour or so more for return.

Is it compulsory to carry the original Credit card as I am in Bangalore and my Uncle family is in other part of the country, it is practically impossible for me to hand over the Credit card to them.
