I thought after sharing the series of snowfall places near Delhi sometime back, why not share a list of some easy winter treks in Uttarakhand & Himachal which one can hike in winters to enjoy the snow as well as solitude midst nature around on those treks.

I have specifically pulled out only the top 6 easy treks from a long list posted in DwD Community to at least help you start with your bucket list. Once you cover them, you can refer to the comprehensive list already present in DwD Community.
Let us look at three easy winter treks that you can go to in Himachal Pradesh. I have provided the basic characteristics of each of these treks. It will help you quickly decide which one to choose based on your parameters.

The first trek in my series about easy winter treks in Himachal is Bijli Mahadev which lies at an altitude of 2450 meters.
The trek to Bijli Mahadev starts from Chansari village near Kullu – Manali. You will get to see the panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range from the trek. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek and may experience the snowfall too depending on the weather.
It can easily be one of the places in Himachal to play with snow in winter. The trek difficulty level is easy and you can do it in one day. Depending on the snow covers, you will need to trek a distance of about 6-8 km to reach Bijli Mahadev.

The second trek in my series about easy winter treks in Himachal is Triund, which lies near Mcleodganj – Dharamshala region.
The trek to Triund takes you to an altitude of 2800 meters. You will get to see the panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range and aerial views of Dharamshala from the trek. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek and may experience the snowfall, too, depending on the weather. Also, it may not be possible to complete the entire Triund trek in winter depending on the amount of snow.
It is also one of the places in Himachal to experience snowfall or play with snow in winter. The trek difficulty level is easy, and you can do it in one day. Depending on the snow covers, you will be able to trek either complete or some distance the Triund trek. The whole trek is about 9 km in the distance for one side.

The third trek in my series about easy winter treks in Himachal is Prashar Lake snow trek, which lies near Baggi Village – Mandi region.
The trek to Prashar lake takes you to an altitude of 2700 meters. You will get to see the panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range and the frozen Prashar lake in its all majesty. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek and may experience the snowfall, too, depending on the weather.
You can visit Prashar lake to play with snow in winter near Delhi. The trek difficulty level is easy, and you can do it in one day. The whole trek is about 15-18 km in the distance depending on how far the car can drop you on the road.

The first trek in my series about easy winter treks in Uttarakhand is Tunganath – Chandrashilla trek which takes you at an altitude of 3680 meters and 4000 meters respectively.
The trek to Chandrashilla – Tunganath starts from Chopta village near Ukimath. You will get to see the panoramic views of the Kedar range to Nanda Devi range from the trek. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek and may experience the snowfall, too, depending on the weather. I highly recommend taking the guide along with you in the winter season.
It can easily be one of the places in Uttarakhand near Delhi to play with snow in winter. The trek difficulty level is easy to moderate, and you can do it in one day. You will be trekking for about 10-13 km to complete the trek to Chandrashilla and back. Also, it may not be possible to reach Chandrashilla at all after Tunganath due to the presence of snow.

The second trek in my series about easy winter treks in Uttarakhand is Deoriatal, which lies near Sari Village – Ukimath region.
The trek to Deoriatal takes you to an altitude of 2450 meters. You will get to see the panoramic views of the Chaukhamba peak and the surrounding Himalayan range. The reflections of the peaks in the lake are indeed to die for any day. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek, around Deoriatal and may experience the snowfall too depending on the weather.
It is also one of the places in Uttarakhand to experience snowfall or play with snow in winter. The trek difficulty level is easy, and you can do it in one day. The whole trek is about 3-4 km in the distance. I highly recommend camp overnight to witness the magical reflections in the lake in the morning time.

The last trek in my series about easy winter treks in Uttarakhand is Kar Ki Dun, which lies near the Sankri region.
The trek to Har Ki Dun takes you to an altitude of 3500 meters. You will get to see the panoramic views Swargrohini peak and Jaundar glacier from the trek. In winter, you will see the snow on the trek and may experience the snowfall, too, depending on the weather. Also, it may not be possible to complete the entire Har Ki Dun trek in winter depending on the amount of snow.
The trek difficulty level is easy to moderate and you can do it in 5-6 days while camping on the way. The whole trek is about 54 km in distance as a round trip.

You should always carry your water bottle and refill it as many times as you need water. It will not only keep you hydrated always, but you will also help in saving the Himalayas from plastic garbage. Remember, every tiny step counts and your step in this direction can help save the Himalayas too !! 🙂 🙂
Of course, this list of easy treks is not comprehensive or conclusive. There can be many other treks that can be added from both Himachal and Uttarakhand. However, it is a good starting point and shall keep you busy at least 2-3 winter season with these six treks.
