You can now make online booking of tickets for the helicopter services running on the Katra – Sanjichhat – Katra section for Mata Vaishno Devi. The return fare from Katra – Sanjichhat – Katra is Rs 2,010 and the one-way fare is Rs 1,005 (as of September 2018). After confirming the ticket online, you need to carry valid identity proof such as a PAN card, voter ID card, driving license, passport, etc.
I believe this will certainly help a lot more people (mainly physically challenged / unfit or old aged) to visit the holy place and surely is a welcome step by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB). Thanks to them for the same as perhaps now my parents can also try to attempt this divine pilgrimage.

Updates – January 2022
- The Vaishno Devi ticket fare is increased to Rs 1005/- one way and Rs 2010 return as of September 2018.
- Cancellation of helicopter tickets is allowed now and it can be done till 7 days in advance and a 50% amount is refunded.
- The reservation starts at 10.00 AM now instead of 00.00 hrs earlier.
- Online Yatra parchi is now free of cost ( earlier it was at Rs 50/-) and about 15000 parchies are open for booking every day.
- Online booking of helicopter services for Vaishno Devi opens up 60 days in advance at 10 AM and it can be done a minimum of 4 days in advance of the journey.
- Pawan Hans will no more operate from 01.04.14, the contract is given to Himalayan Heli Services from 01.04.14 Global & Himalayan Heli Services will operate only.
Can I get current Vaishno Devi Helicopter Tickets at the counter?
Yes, you can purchase the current helicopter tickets of Vaishno Devi from the ticket counter at Katra. You need to have a valid photo ID proof for yourself and all members of your group to avail the current tickets.
Now, Yatra’s registration slip (parchi) is mandatory to purchase the current Vaishno Devi helicopter tickets at the counter. Please do not fall for any touts or agents and note that the charges of helicopter tickets are Rs 1005 for one way and Rs 2010 for a return ticket. The rates are exclusive of any taxes which will be charged in addition to it.
You may encounter a lot of touts or agents trying to cheat you by charging more money for the Vaishno Devi helicopter tickets. DO NOT purchase such tickets as it is not allowed officially.
Vaishno Devi Helicopter Tickets – Online Booking Process
Time needed: 1 hour
Below is the detailed step-by-step process of booking the Maa Vaishno Devi helicopter tickets online.
- User Registration on Maa Vaishno Devi Official Website
Register by clicking the ‘New User Registration’ and provide all the details.
Only one user registration is allowed. It is best to register from a network from which you are sure that no one else would have registered before. Otherwise, the website will not allow you to register. Use your mobile network maybe if nothing works.
- Select flight DateTime and check availability
After successful registration, select the date, route details, flight, and several passengers. Check the availability and start entering passenger details. One user can only book a maximum of 5 helicopter tickets from one credit card or debit card in a month.
- Enter passenger details carefully
Make sure you submit the correct details, double-check before submitting the final step. Once, you submit the details they cannot be changed. Many people make mistakes, so I will recommend that you check all the details twice.
- Make the payment
Enter the credit card or debit card details for processing the payment. On successful payment, you must take the printout of the reservation slip and note down the transaction ID. The transaction will start showing in the Successful transaction history of the home page.
- Check transaction status for any errors
When you are making a reservation and a technical problem happens, make sure that you check the transaction status.
a. If the transaction status is successful, then you do not need to do anything. Now, you can take the printout of your reservation using the re-print option.
b. In the case of a failed transaction, you can retry a new reservation. If the amount has been deducted, you can send the email to ‘online@maavaishnodevi.org’ for the processing of a refund. You should provide the transaction details including tracking ID number / Trace number, user ID, and transaction date.
c. You must send refund requests within 30 days of travel otherwise no refund will be issued. - Take the printout of the Electronic Reservation Slip
Once you make the online reservation, you should take the printout of the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS). This will need to be presented with other required documents including an original credit card or debit card along with a valid photo ID address proof. Also, you must save the Transaction ID somewhere for all future references. If you cannot take the printout of the ERS, you can send an email to ‘online@maavaishnodevi.org’ within 48 hours of the transaction date.
Important Note – Vaishno Devi Helicopter Tickets
Please note that www.maavaishnodevi.org is the only official website of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB). You should use only this website for any online purchases including the purchase of helicopter tickets and SHOULD NOT use any other unofficial means to purchase the tickets. The above-mentioned rates in this article are official rates and only taxes are extra to be paid with it. SMVDSB does not have authorized any travel agent to sell helicopter tickets. Hence, you should not pay any other charges to an agent as it is not allowed officially to purchase tickets by other means.
Cancellation Policy of Vaishno Devi Helicopter Tickets
- You can cancel the helicopter tickets booked online using the official website only. You cannot request the cancellations over the counter or other means.
- You will get 70% of the fare in return and 30% gets deducted against processing charges.
- You can cancel your helicopter tickets up to 4 days in advance before the scheduled date of travel.
- The amount will get refunded to the same account through which you did the transaction.
- In case of cancellation of the helicopter flights from Katra to Sanjichhat or Sanjichhat to Katra due to bad weather or other technical reasons, a full refund will be made to you. In such a case, pilgrims should submit their online Helicopter ticket to the respective helicopter operator.
Important Questions – Vaishno Devi Helicopter Tickets
You should carry the original Credit Card or Debit card with which you have purchased the helicopter tickets for Vaishno Devi yatra. In the absence of the original credit card or debit card, you will be denied boarding without any refund.
In addition, you must carry an original valid Photo ID and Address Proof for yourself and everyone in your group, without which boarding will be denied. The documents which are accepted are Passport, Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Voters ID or PAN card, or any Credit Card with Photo.
The helicopter ride takes just 8-10 minutes from Katra to Sanjichhat and a similar time it takes to return from Sanjichhat to Katra.
Children below two years of age are allowed to ride free provided they are carried in the lap of the parents. In case of a dispute, you may be required to present a copy of your child’s birth certificate. So, do carry it with you.
You should reach at least 1 hr before the departure of your helicopter flight to Katra or Sanjichhat. If you do not reach in time, you may be marked as NO SHOW and no refund will be issued in such a case.
The helipad is about 2 KMs away from the Katra bus stand. You can either walk/hike or take a local auto/taxi to reach the Helipad and board your flight.
Vaishno Devi Bhawan is about 2.5 KMs from the Sanjicchat helipad. The gradient of the walk is low and simple, you will easily reach Bhawan in an hr or so from the Sanjichhat helipad.
The helicopter will carry 5-6 passengers in one flight.
Yes, the Vaishno Devi helicopter flights are subject to weather, visibility, and flying conditions. If it is unsafe to travel or fly, the flights will be canceled. A full refund of tickets will be issued in such a case.

Briefing Governor NN Vohra, who is the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, RK Goyal, CEO of the shrine board, said after pursuing a transparent bidding process the one-way passenger fare for the helicopter travel between Katra and Sanjichhat had come down from Rs 1,225 per passenger to Rs 699 per passenger from April 1 this year.
Expressing satisfaction over the significant reduction in the helicopter fares, the Governor hoped that a large number of senior citizens and physically challenged pilgrims would get an opportunity to avail of this facility, considering that the helicopter service was now available at a reasonable price. He called for effective day-to-day monitoring of the helicopter operations.
Goyal stated that for the convenience of the pilgrims the board had further streamlined the procedure for ticketing of the helicopter services on the Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra sector.
He added that the passengers, who wished to avail of the helicopter services, could log on to the shrine board’s website (www.maavaishnodevi.org) and confirm an e-ticket after making the required payment.
The Yatris could also avail of the online ticketing facility through the website of the two helicopter operators, viz, Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd ( https://www.pawanhans.co.in ) and Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd (http://www.onlineglobalhelicorp.com ).
Dr Mandeep Bhandari, Additional CEO of the board, clarified that a pilgrim possessing an e-ticket must carry a valid proof of his or her identity like a passport, PAN card, voter ID card, driving license etc., which bore the name and other particulars of the pilgrim to secure a hassle-free access to the heliports at Katra and Sanjichhat.
He advised all pilgrims, who intended to avail of the helicopter services, to secure a confirmed ticket before finalizing their travel plans.

I have a situation here. I have reservations for helicopter trip for 26th July. I forgot my PAN card back in US and PAN card detail is the one on my reservation. Will my passport work?
Second for my kids, i had given the passport numbers on the reservation and their passports are in US consulate for visa renewal but I have their zerox.

Well, this seems an issue. Do get the copy of that PAN card anyways otherwise it may be hard to convince them. I think they do check the id number with which booking was made. For children, I think copies of passport should be fine.

Try to use, Internet Explorer version 9, 8 or 7 and then try again, it should work. In Internet Explorer, you can open the website and then press F12 key. I bar at the bottom will open up where you can change the version of your browser using last to menu items. The wesbite will load again as you change the “Browse Mode” and then once, it is reloaded, try again login. This should work.

Yes, it is a fine time to visit I think as weather would be pleasant and I hope monsoon resides by that time. If you are going via Helicopter both ways, then you get a VIP pass otherwise you cannot unless you have some hold of VIP personal who can get you one, may be talk to cousin in the Army and ask him, if he can help on the same. Most likely, he would be able to do so.

I have made both way-helicopter booking in which the return is next day. I checked the hotels but couldn’t find any rooms available in bhawan. Do we get dormatry at bhawan… We r 6 people and 1child…. How will we spend thecnight.

I do not have the idea on how to book the dormitory there. Regarding passbooks, the PAN cards proof may work if they are not the ones who did the bookings. Otherwise, you can always carry a photo copy of passbook front page with you.

Hi everyone…Thank you once again, Dheeraj for starting this thread.. it has helped a lot of mata ke bhakts to make their yatra more comfortable…
I did my yatra in june and these are some of my observations… hope it answers few of the questions and helps a few people..
1. There is a very well regulated prepaid taxi service from Jammu to Katra.. the rates are printed and put on their board and range from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1800 (depending on the vehicle) for a oneway drop. Hence, do not book any hotel pickups which are usually more expensive..
2. If you have booked a return ticket by helicopter, ur return timing is predecided and u do not have a choice in that. There is an approx. 3 hr. window for the darshan which is a comfortable time.
3. you do not need to take any yatra parchi… at the sanjichhat helipad, u will be issued a VIP darshan pass..
4. the bhawan is approx. 2.5 kms from the helipad.. u can choose to walk or take a pony there.. lookout for printed boards with the union rates mentioned and pay only tht much…
5. when u reach bhawan ask for the locker rooms… they are a little hard to locate and if u go ahead the security will send u all the way back… hence, keep a lookout for the sign for the locker rooms or keep asking the locals… u will not be allowed to take any leather items, cell phones, cameras, eatables, water bottles, pens, sharp objects etc. etc..
6. once u hv put ur stuff in the locker room proceed for gate no. 5… now there r 2 such gates… ask for the security guard for the one where VIP pass holders are allowed to enter..
7. once u enter from the correct gate, it wud take abt 10 – 15 mins to reach the mata's sanctum sanctorum.
8. If u visit bhaironji temple after this u can just about make it to sanjichhat in the stipulated 3 hrs.. however, if u hv people with u who cant walk fast, i suggest give this a miss as it would be cutting it too short.
hope this throws enough light on the process and also answers some of the general questions…

maximum 15 min. by auto from katra main chowk/bus stand to helipad, then please go 1 hour before at helipad because at there they first check your Original ID card then they weight your body after that they will issue the boarding pass then you have to wait for your turn ,
if you have return ticket also then at sanjichat(means upper helipad) they will issue a VIP pass , if you have only one way ticket then they will not issue the VIP pass .
3 YEARS 6 MONTH CHILD FREE TICKET OR TICKET BOOKING
If you are 3 years 1 day old then you should have helicopter ticket
but dont show this , tell them that baby is 2.75 years old, dont tell them the actual age
Ticket booking is required above two years.

I just visited Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan on 4/5 june and wanted to share my experience with you all w.r.t helicopter journey. First of all I would thank Dheeraj ji for starting such a helpful blog with all relevant info.
I took helicopter service and would like to address some concerns which I still see coming up on the blog and I too had before the trip:
1. You need to have a return ticket for priority darshan.
2. Return ticket may not be booked in one go. i.e You can book 2 one way tickets separateyl, 1 from Katra to Sanjiichath and other from Sanjichath to Katra. This will be counted as a return ticket and you will get priority darshan.
3. This way you get the flexibility of chosing your return time as when you book a return ticket then you only get 3 hours and many people miss visiting and darshan of Bhairav Baba mandir.
4. At katra the only important thing that is checked is your photo id. also please dont carry any mirrors, but if you are able to pass through security without being detected then no problem.:D
5. the seating capacity of helicopter is 6 person, they weigh you and then alott group accordingly. on request they allow all family members to be in a single helicopter.
6. As rightly pointed out, Sanjichath to Bhawan takes 45 mins.
7. At Bhawan you get to have a priority locker facility at niharika (i dont recollect the name properly), it is a vaishnodevi trust rest house near the snaan ghat.
8. there you keep your stuff and then mmove through gate no.5 (if i recollect correctly and the gate is just below niharika max 20 stpes from there.
9. then you move along the queue and get blessings of vaishno mata ji.
10. if you have 3 or more hours on your hand then catch a horse and you can visit bhairav baba mandir and return to sanjichath.
the most important part is you should collect YELLOW parchi while moving out of pawan hans office at sanjichath. they will write the no of people and also provide you the gate number to enter. (as explained earlier only return ticket passngers get this facility)
No Yatra Parchi is required. the yellow parchi and your boarding pass acts as a proof of your travel.
I hope I have answered most of the queries of passengers related to helicopter service.

My parents plan to visit Vaishno devi shrine on 21st june (day after tomm). As I read in the comments, all tickets for helicopter ride get booked a month ago. So is there any other way (physical counter / agent) that they can book helicopter tickets for 21st June? I tried calling their helpline, but none of the numbers seems correct.

Only some travel agent would be able to help you on this who is based in Jammu or Katra and even for them for such short notice and in such peak season, it will be difficult. But, you can give a try.

As mentioned in above comments, you get the special pass only when you have return ticket where entry is done from a special gate and helicopter service provider gives you that pass. If you have a single side ticket then I guess you are allowed to enter from somewhere mid, not right from the start of the queue, if I remember correctly.

you can ask your hotel staff at katra , they can arrange the tickets, becaue some kota is there for heli tickets and they buy the ticket under that kota , but they charge very high,
I visited there on 9 to 11 june this year via helicopter, and I noticed that many peoples riding with helicopter , they buy the tickets from their hotel on the same day, and also I saw that from Sanjhichaat to katra(return) , tickets are vacante and many peoples on 11 june around 4.00 PM buy the tickets form Sanjhichat counter.

Recently I visited Mata Vaishno-Devi , my experience as below:-
1. Please don’t plan to go in MAY and JUNE as a very huge rush is there at this time,all hotels charge almost 3 times, all other things are not available easily.
2. YATRA PARCHI –
via helicopter (with return ticket)—No need to take any yatri parchi .At Sanjhichat ,one counter is there, they issue a VIP Parchi . in this you have to take cloak room –4 and entry via gate no.5. (save too much of time and tension).
Without helicopter – In May and June – please book the yatri parchi by internet/online in advance because at that time about 1 km long line is there.
3. HOTEL — In peak season , please book hotel via ph in advance , n in normal time , hotels will available easily
4. Camera—Video camera is not allowed in Helicopter, but still-digital camera is allowed without any extra activity.

Could you please tell me whether we can carry Digital Still camera in the Helicopter and in Bhawan? And for that should we take any special pass?

I guess yes the digital still cameras are allowed to be taken and you do not need any special permissions. Also, to be on safer side carry the card in original as well along with photocopies of it.

If you live in Delhi or Mumbai contact the local Pawan Office and ask if they sell tickets. If yes, then go and buy from the local office. Otherwise, you can book the tickets online through official website of Maa Vaishno Devi. Use only Internet Explorer 7 or 8, otherwise site will not work as required.
For online ticket bookings: You can register at the official website of Vaishno Devi linked here and then after login to Devotee account, you can book tickets using the link to helicopter services and make the payment using any Credit/Debit card of any bank on the official website. You can book tickets only 30 days in advance of your travel date. The cost of the ticket is Rs 699 for one way. You can check the current price. You can book your tickets and check more details regarding helicopter services to Maa Vaishno Devi at the link here as well.
As soon as you book the tickets, first your status on the page for transaction should be Successful (check link-’Check transaction status’) and there will be one more status in devotee zone which could be “In Process”. Then wait for 48-72 hrs for this status to change to “confirmed”. Once, the status is changed to “confirmed” there will be a confirmation by e-mail from the Helicopter Service Provider which ever you booked. After that you need to take the print out of this page with you at the time of Yatra and the print out of confirmation email. You will be required to show these print out along with the photo identity proofs at the time of boarding the helicopter.
Please note that, the process of getting the return in case of any transaction failure is pretty painstaking and slow. Has the process of confirmation changed. I am unable to see a devotee zone? I just booked a return trip and got an email from online@maavaishnodevi.org saying your transaction was successfull. If I go online and look at the Helicopter transactions section, I can see the transaction and when i click on Reprint it brings up a Passenger travel document with my details, amount paid and terms and conditions and also the PNR number. I was not able to find status anywhere? Should I wai9t for another email or this is the confirmation?

Jai Mata Di, Sanjeev bhai. Sorry, I do not have idea if the process has been changed or not. There should always be status for the transaction and I am not sure why they have removed it. Let's wait for a day or two and then see if some status comes up. However, getting an email for success and PNR does also states the confirmation somewhat.

hi all. This is suyash. Just now visited Maa Vaishno devi by helicopter… My experience.
1. Tickets booking: It can only be booked through website. one month before @ 12 am sharp. It takes hardly 1-2 mins to be filled up. If not successful, den try after 5-6 hrs, as some seats get free after sometime, due to system error.
2. Yatra parchi- No online yatra parchi required. It is issued directly when u get down at sanjhichat counter.
3. Special entry- Direct entry into temple from one of the gates. No que outside temple.Q inside temple will be dere.
4. Room booking: Always try 4 booking rooms through the website, as its d best accomodation in the area. Even dormatory is also worth it.Better than the average and medium/ cheap class accomodation.
5. Bhairon baba darshan: No parchi required for darshan. Q is also not as big as Mata's darshan.
6. Mobile connections: Only postpaid connections work in J&K. No prepaid will work.
7. Global vectra: Althogh I had booked through Pawan hans. Passengers of Global vectra are accomodated at pawan hans only.Pl contact the Pawan hans office at Katra itself near bus stand.
8. I cards: Pl do carry ur I cards, as it would be required compulsarily.

I have seen, they accomodated some people and in one case, they made to sit even a child of 15 yrs alone in other filght.
Totally a government way of doing the things.

VIP PARCHI FOR HELICOPTERS:
For the both way travel, they issue some VIP parchi, where the entry is directly into the temple and darshan will be very fast.
For one way travel, from katra to sanjichat: Its not actually the VIP pass, but they issue the same parchi, the benefit is that they allot the gate no at the same instance, so the Q for obtaining the Gate no is ommitedand the direct entry from the ref gate is permitted. It saves a lot of time, as you directly enter the Temple with one of the gates and the Darshan will be in maximum half or one hr time.
For One way from Sanjichat to Katra, helicopter ticket: I dont think any kind of pass will be issued, as its a return journey ticket, which is availed after u have already taken the Darsan…

We are planning darshan in June and have booked the helicopter tickets as well. However, now we have a few concerns (mentioned below) and your comments (or anyone else who has an idea) on the same would be highly appreciated.
1. Tickets for both the parents are scheduled for 9:10am and for one child is @ 12:00pm. Hence, just wanted to check if they (Pawanhans mgmt at Katra) would be flexible enough to accommodate the child with the parents.
2. One of our friends has got the 11am slot; so would it be possible for him to get along with us (at 09:10am). As per the comments on your blog, the timings are not of great importance and they just squeeze everyone on first come first serve basis. Let us know your thoughts.
3. If anyone has only one way helicopter ticket (Sanjhichat to Katra), then can they use the VIP queue for darshan. Also, do they need to buy the Yatra Parchi?
Any comments on the above raised queries would be helpful.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
For all others looking for heli bookings at 00 hrs, pls ensure that you have good internet connection and seize on any tickets that you can get your hands on. There is huge demand and you would notice that most of the tickets are blocked within seconds. Then we just have to scramble for whatever we get. We had tried for almost couple of hours and then finally managed to book 4 tickets but unfortunately in different time slots. I believe there are a slew of agents in Jammu / Katra who are highly active and book majority of the tickets for their clients.

I have made helicopter bookings for maa vaishno devi on 11th and 12th of April. Since yesterday I have been trying to login but my password does not work. When I try to retrieve my password, it says id does not exist. I have the booking confirmation emails from online@maavaishnodevi.org which contains the transaction id. I tried calling the online services also but no help.
Is there a way I can get the print out of my tickets by going to any of their offices or on the spot?

Try to create the new ID using same credentials on this new site but ONLY use Internet explorer 6,7,8 otherwise it will not work. Didn't you get the confirmation email? You can take its print-out in worst case.

Iam planing to travel via helicopter (return also) on 10/06/2012 , but my agent telling me that between KATRA to Sanjichatt flight and Sanjichatt to katra return flight only three hours 30 minutes difference is there , it is possible that within 3 hrs 30 min we can comlete our prayer (mean between 3 hrs 30 min. we travel from Sanjichatt to main mata darbar + complete all formalities + darshan + return back to Sanjichatt ) so that we can take our flight toward katra.please reply as soon as possible I will become very thankfull to you

sanjichatt to mata darbar is not a big distance. at reached darbar, u just hv 2 show ur boarding pass from sanjichatt to katra & u will get immediate darshan. nothing 2 worry. jai mata di.

Bupinder, try to keep a gap of about 6 Hrs at least between return flight to do the journey upto Bhaironathji Mandir including Darshan at easy pace, otherwise you will be just rushing through it.

I dont think we have a choice out there. When u book a Katra – Sanjichhat – Katra ticket, the onward and return timings are predecided. at least that is what happened when i booked. So, if u book katra sanjichhat at 10.00 then ur return is predecided at around 13.30.

Bhawan is about 2.5 KMs from Sanjichatt and will take about 1-1.5 Hr to reach depending upon the speed you take and then the similar to return. Depending upon the length of queues (even VIP ones), time can be decided for Darshan.

Pls let me know the process of booking 5 tickets of helcopter from Katra to Sanjhichat. At one time can I book only one ticket or 5 ticket at one go. Also system requires PAN and ID of passengers. I want ot book 2 tickets for children aged 4 & 8 yrs. We don't have any ID for these children. Pls let me know

School IDs or Birth Certificate will do for the children and yes you can book 5 tickets at a time. You need to show valid national IDs for other passengers and PAN is required for the one who is booking the tickets.

The government Friday cancelled the security clearance accorded to Global Vectra Helicorp, aviation arm of Ravi Rishi-led Vectra Group which operates a fleet of choppers, after the home ministry raised security concerns about the firm.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing an alleged role of the London-based Vectra Group chairman in connection with the multi-crore-rupee Tatra deal and the bribery allegations made by the Army chief.
"We have asked the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) to cancel all their helicopter operations," Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh told reporters outside parliament.
"We will also cancel the airport passes given to the employees of the company. We have told Pawan Hans (helicopter company) to fill in the supply gap," Singh said.
The company refused to confirm the government decision.
With a fleet of 23 choppers, the company operates onshore and offshore operations for oil companies and also caters to tourist travels in the northeast India.
The company operates flight operations to major shrines like Vaishno Devi and during Amarnath Yatra.

I guess 2 year one do not require any ticket, so no worries for him but for 3 year child either you need to convince them he is below 2 years or I am not sure if they will allow you to take him without ticket. Booking on the spot, I am also not sure if you will get the tickets.

Hi Pragya,
You have to take the print out of that mail, otherwise you may face some problems over there. I would recommend to take 2-3 copies of that mail. Also, please don't forget to carry the valid ID Proofs of all the passengers, without that your tickets are invalid.

Take the printout and also take the same identity cards (with ID number entered while booking) of all the persons, otherwise they wont allow you for helicopter service

hi, I have booked a helicopter to Sanjichhat at 5 pm , expecting to book a room at bhawan and visiting the shrine next morning.
however the hotel availability ran out even before i could book. Are there any options to stay at Sanjichhat or around that i can check?
we would like to attend the aarti in the morning and hence would like to go with such a plan.

We wanted booking for 21st May which we were trying continously, that dat site was not respoinding and from the next day the status is as 'un-availbale'. is there any facility to book the tickets after reaching there as we have 2 senior citizens in our group at least for them we'll require return tickets.

I followed your instructions and started to book from 12:00AM, 30 days before my planned darshan with my family on 26th May 2012 finally I was able to book return tickets only (Sanjichatt to katra) katra to Sanjichatt not available, one transaction failed in between, after trying continuously for more than 24 hr (Booked at 6.00 AM on 27th April) for 26th May return at 14.38 hr through Global Vectra.
Please suggest and clarify my quires.

i had to book 5 tickets for to and fro for 21st may. 00.00hrs i started with 3 people trying the same booking. i got through available and convinient slots. but after the payment gateway , my ticket from katra-sanjhichatt dint process whereas i got my return tickets confirmed. after trying for 2 hrs , i still couldnt check the availability.finally at 03.30 hrs i woke up again to try and luckily got thrugh. so people who are not getting tickets , get up in betn your sleep and try to book it.!!!!!

Thanks again Dheeraj, I could finally book heli tickets after trying for one and half hours with the help of my wife. We booked 2 tickets each for 5 passengers, Pawan Hans for katra to sanjichhat and Global Vectra for Sanjichhat to katra. Just that for one of the passenger on Katra to Sanjichhat the age has been marked as 30 instead of 36, PAN no. is correct though.Do you see any issue in this or this can get corrected by calling up someone please?

Thanks for the excellent info about booking the helicopter services. I followed your instructions and started to book from 12:00AM, 30 days before my planned darshan. I have booked onward at 11.20AM and return at 5:00PM through Global Vectra. I saw in your post that heli tickets could be used to have VIP darshan at the temple. Kindly give me the details for the same, as i am travelling with a 3 year old and 3 month old kids.

Yes, you will get the VIP passage but as Kartick said in his comments: "You are allowed to join the regular queue from about half km before the deity. This is what is VIP passage". But, it is really helpful when rush is huge and main normal queue is too too long.

I have booked helicopter tickets for 19th May, 2012 for two people. Will I be allowed Priority Darshan with these tickets or is there any other procedure involved for Priority Darshan, since there is just a difference of 3 hours in between my to and fro flight timings? You can use shrine board website to book accommodation at Bhawan. You have to make full payment to book helicopter tickets and make room bookings.
Use only Internet Explorer 7 or 8, otherwise site will not work as required.
For online ticket bookings: You can register at the official website of Vaishno Devi linked here and then after login to Devotee account, you can book tickets using the link to helicopter services and make the payment using any Credit/Debit card of any bank on the official website. You can book tickets only 30 days in advance of your travel date. The cost of the ticket is Rs 699 for one way. You can check the current price. You can book your tickets and check more details regarding helicopter services to Maa Vaishno Devi at the link here as well.
As soon as you book the tickets, first your status on the page for transaction should be Successful (check link-’Check transaction status’) and there will be one more status in devotee zone which could be “In Process”. Then wait for 48-72 hrs for this status to change to “confirmed”. Once, the status is changed to “confirmed” there will be a confirmation by e-mail from the Helicopter Service Provider which ever you booked. After that you need to take the print out of this page with you at the time of Yatra and the print out of confirmation email. You will be required to show these print out along with the photo identity proofs at the time of boarding the helicopter.
Please note that, the process of getting the return in case of any transaction failure is pretty painstaking and slow. Hence, do not book in case you are not sure about the travel dates or your plan is tentative or your first transaction is failed (it is likely that second will also fail. So, more amount will be stuck) etc.
Also, note that no refund is made for cancellations and no pre-postponement of the timings will be entertained. Hence, book with extreme caution with respect to details.

It might not create much issue as it has happened to us two three times though with domestic flights not maa vaishno devi helicopter services. If required, they just cut changed the gender at the counter itself. Hence, I feel this should be the case here too. hi, I want to book heli tickets on 3 rd June 2012 Late evening for going for 9 passengers including a two yr old child and return tickes for next day that is 4 th june 2012 as we want to proceed to Srinagar at the earliest. i also want room resevation at the main Bhawan Complex itself. I have logged on the shrine board website but I am unable to Book any of the srevice, also tried calling their no on the helpdesk for room reservation but nobody is picking it up. Please help

What i found weird was that the difference in time in the to and fro was only 4 hours. so take-off from katra at 8a and return flight is at 12p – 4hrs…
this confused me totally and i lost the op. to book tickets…
esp. after reading here that you need to be back for the return flight an hour in advance…
and in 15mins most were gone, except for the late evening ones where the return was for next day…

2.While booking there is a section for PAN (this one is common for all and not for passengers individual ID section).Is this the PAN no. of person booking the tickets?As I will be booking tickets for my parents but wont be travelling. I will be giving the ID details of my parents in individual passenger's ID section

Yes, I guess if you can show them both tickets they will allow you for the same. Yes, that will be common for all, most probably for the one who is doing the bookings. Give them the self-attested copy of your PAN number as well when they Travel. I do not see any issues arising due to it.

I tried booking helicopter tickets on 8th april at 12 midnight for 2 passengers. First time the transaction got failed after the payment and no amount was deducted from my bank a/c so i tried another time and again the transaction got declined. Later i checked my a/c and saw that the amount for both the transactions were deducted from my a/c. (Rs.2841.46) I called in 01991-232887 but the number is not getting connected. I mailed in online@maavaishnodevi.org regarding the same but i got the reply from them to send the same email to helpdesk@maavaishnodevi.org and admin@maavaishnodevi.org . I did the same and now it has been a week but i am not getting any replies. What should i do now to get the amount back?? please help
