Royale Rajasthan | Exploring Amber Palace, Jaipur – 1

The Journey so far-

Day 5 | 20th, December 2010 | Amber Fort and Amber Palace, Jaipur

It was nice and a cold night in Jaipur. We were done with our sleep and feeling refreshed at the best. We walked down to the restaurant to have the breakfast which was complimentary with our room charges. Initially we thought to have a little as we were doubting the quality but to our surprise it was the best breakfast of our trip, however on the last day 🙂 … We were happy to tank up our tummies and by 8.30 AM we checked out of Hotel Teej, RTDC. We set off towards our last destination of the Rajasthan trip, the famous Amber Palace in Jaipur and then had to drive back home in Delhi :)…

The Amber Palace…

We asked many people regarding the route to Amber Palace and finally after struggling through the streets of Jaipur for more than 30 minutes we made it to the parking lot of Amber Palace. Thank god we need not had to drive back into Jaipur for moving back to Delhi. The road of Amber Palace leads to Delhi only :)… We were confused a bit over the parking assuming they only meant for taxis. We asked one of the guys over there in parking and finally got a place to park our car in between the taxis.

Again, as soon as you enter the Amber Palace there was a herd of guides vouching for you but again we were not interested in the history of the place. We wanted to enjoy only 🙂 and hence gracefully kept them away. The main entrance of the palace was a bit far from the gate we had entered. Actually, you can take elephant as well and some jeeps also run to drop you at the palace entrance. But, both these options are only available at the main gate of the Amber Palace complex not the side gate from where we entered the premises.

We had fun over there watching the people riding elephants, couples enjoying the corners, guides busy explaining the history, photographers taking the photos etc. The place looked extremely lively and the presence of people amazed us. My wife was very scared from the elephants running up-down on the path to the entrance but I was enjoying that too :)…There was huge number of tourists present there as we entered the Amber Palace after climbing some good number of stairs. My wife had taken sweets to offer in the mata temple present just adjacent to the main entry of the palace.
