Well today I would present the second in the series of Nostalgic Moments, with first one being Delhi to Nainitaal | Nostalgic Moments – 1. I hope you enjoyed the Nainitaal pictures and I am pretty sure that would surely welcome this one too. It was being first of the adventurous trip most of us had which was sponsored by our employer :), for team building activity. Well the trip was awwsssoommeee and believe me that RAFTING was a special thing I ever did in my life.
Sitting in front watching the rapids come at you with one leg lacking any kind of support, was simply amazing stuff to feel. It was once in a lifetime experience to feel but yes for sure some pictures to express a little bit of it. It was 150 people each week from the company but we were like a college class :). After a whole night traffic jam (6-7 Hr if I remember correctly) on the highway due to trucks and some inefficient police walas we managed to reach Shivpuri around 12 in the noon. But reaching the camp was a big relief in terms of all sought 🙂 and the whole lousiness was gone on seeing the views like below.
The camping group asked us to have lunch and get split into two groups one being small for rappelling a waterfall and other a large for rafting. As I told since were were like a class and had a complete bus to our name we all opted for the smaller one and head for rappelling. We had to trek to reach the waterfall and it was great fun.
Well it seemed a bit easy at the start but seeing the few go down at the very top or in between getting injured, was real worry. Earlier we were shouting from below with all the advices but once I reached at the top I came to realize that I can’t hear a damn thing from the friends down there. The pressure of the water was great and even when I tried to put my first step, the waterfall just threw it and I was like, WOW, this isn’t easy.
It was time for the next day events and we had like rock climbing and then rappelling down the climbed rocks. Again it was really good, a bit easy as compared to what we did last day but yes of course required that 3-point body contact principle all the time while climbing.
Then after this activity it was the time for main event i.e. Water Rafting. Well I can’t express in words what the experience that was but I am sure that it was once for the lifetime. Breathtaking fast and requires some stuff to see it comes right into your eyes. The one thing I can’t stop telling you guys is that right at the front we were two guys on either side and our instructor was giving some tips all the time to us specially being on the front-end. Since the flow of the river was high that day and one rapid I don’t remember the name (golf course I think), came and our instructor told us some special points to take care to face this one and I tell you that idiot sitting adjacent to me told us that he can’t understand hindi . I was like, you ****, now you are telling us and thanked god that nothing happened in the previous ones. But, we survived the rapids and finally reached the last point where we were supposed to do Cliff Jumping which due to cold we opted out.
The following is a mix set of pictures of the group. We did a lot of masti and fun throughout the course of stay at Shivpuri and so many incidences are unforgettable especially the narration by my friend, Gaurav (Kullu).
